VIDEO: Five Favorite Films with Tilda Swinton

I fell in love with her after watching "Orlando," based off Virginia Woolf's book of the same name.

RIP: Jennifer Jones, they don't make actresses like you anymore

I remember when I first saw Jennifer Jones in the "The Song of Bernadette." I was mesmerized. She had this beautiful quality about her that left me wanting to see more of her. After that, I watched any film that she was in, including:

The Towering Inferno
A Farewell to Arms
The Barretts of Wimpole Street
Stazione Termini
Carrie
Madame Bovary
Portrait of Jennie

Whether she was playing a cheating wife (Madame Bovary and Stazione Termini) or a girl who ages with considerable speed (Portrait of Jennie), Jennifer Jones held her own. In Carrie, she played with one of greatest actors ever Laurence Olivier, and he didn't upstage her. This is Olivier who could play any role with such precision and it was usually hard for anyone to keep up with him. She did.

I read "Madame Bovary" before watching her performance. When I saw her in the role, I knew she was born to play it. Actresses like Jennifer Jones are far and between nowadays. You should rent some of her movies and watch them with a loved one. She was a breathtaking beauty who could also act.

Rest in Peace Jennifer Jones.
